Project Note / Interactive Tool
Which Version of You Will You Become in Five Years?
A lightweight interactive tool for noticing the future versions beginning to take shape through present choices and tendencies.
What the project is
This is a lightweight interactive questionnaire built from 25 choices. It reads a person's current pattern of choices and presents a primary future version, sometimes alongside another tendency already shaping it.
Why the project exists
The project began after seeing a set of prompts designed to question an AI step by step. That long-form process kept asking a person to add more context, and raised a practical making question: could the experience become a small tool that anyone could complete on their own?
The original question / motivation
The first test was not whether a prediction could be accurate. It was whether the questioning process could still work outside an AI conversation: whether the questions were clear enough, whether choices could accumulate into legible tendencies, and whether the result could help someone notice where they were already heading.
How it took shape
The focus gradually moved away from “predicting who you will be in five years” and toward using present choices and tendencies to notice several future versions already taking shape. The final form became a lightweight questionnaire rather than a letter to one's future self, so the experience could stand on its own and produce a clear result within a few minutes.
Current version and status
The v3.2 web demo is hosted on this site and is currently available in Chinese. Its 25 questions lead to two everyday-life scenarios and a small weekly action. Results retain a primary type and compatible secondary tendencies, or use a neutral title when the type constraints are not met. Progress is saved in the current browser; result cards and the full report can be exported as images.
The role it plays
The tool does not predict a person's future or turn a result into a fixed identity. It offers a brief place to observe which future states are gaining shape through repeated choices, and which variables can still be adjusted.
